Take a gentle paddle along the Basingstoke Canal as it meanders its way through Hampshire. Starting across the canal from the Galleon boat hire and the Waterwich pub where there is good parking and easy access to the water. Either head West to canals end and explore Odiham Castle, or East through Doggmersfield to Crookham Village. You can hire equipment from Galleon Boat hire and the Basingstoke and Deane Canoe Club paddle here on Saturdays all year round.
You need a canal license to use the canal, either from the Basingstoke Canal Authority or British Canoeing membership.
No restrictions on dogs but clearly you take dogs with you at your own risk (and theirs).
There is a pub across from the car park.
No designated toilets but the pub next to the car park will probably be accommodating if you ask nicely.
No camping options nearby.
