Walk the Itchen Way from Eastleigh. This wonderful trail following the River Itchen, is famed for its chalk bed and is a designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. From Eastleigh, just minutes walk from the train station, you can simply enjoy a local wander, or get your hiking boots on and head upstream towards Winchester or downstream to the Itchen Valley Country park and further on into Southampton. Whichever way you go, there are several options to return by train adding to the adventure and joy of the hike.
